Period Drama Treats // Game

Hello readers and all in sundry!

I have an incredible weakness for sugary stuff. Crackly biscuits with snowy sugar sprinkles, rich Christmas toffee, nutty chocolate cakes, honey-hued biscuits with pink icing and chocolate buttons, banoffee pie with too much whipped cream, chocolate creamyness... that's like heaven to me.

And that above picture. Ohmygoodness. Love it.

So here's a nice sugary game for you! Can you guess in which Period Drama these cakes, meals, food belong to? The rules are simple - just comment with your Period Drama guess and you'll get 10 points for every right answer. I hope you'll all try playing! Enjoy!

  3. I cannot remember the last time I played a game!

Here are my answers, but I don't expect to do very well; I don't pay as much attention to food in films!

    1. Sorry, I don't know this one. It looks Regency. 'Pride and Prejudice', or 'Emma' maybe?

    2. At first I couldn't guess, but then I noticed something, and is it 'Singin' in the Rain'?

    3. Gosh, I don't know this one either...

    4. This picture is such a delicious slice of my childhood! Of course, it's from 'The Sound of Music'!

    5. Aha, of course you must put in a 'Downton' one, Naomi! Is this from Matthew and Mary's wedding?

    6. Can't possibly guess!

    7. 'Anne of Green Gables'.

    8. 'Marie Antoinette'. You know they had loads of special food artists for that film? All the food in it is arranged so prettily!

    9. 'Saving Mr Banks'? This one I am entirely unsure of. I think it must be it, but I have only seen that film once...

    10. 'Cranford'.

Thank you for the game! I do love a good game! (Especially one that I know the answers to!) :)

  4. Ooh, I am NOT missing this for the world! I love treats!! ;-)
    1. Easy peasy. Emma, I think 2009. NO CAKE. It's bad for you. :-)
    2. What. Look at that cake. Why would you put that many flowers on a cake. SOMEONE TELL ME. And I have no idea what that's from. Wild guess - Singin' in the Rain (which I've never seen, by the way.)
    3. Hmm, looks like a movie from the '70s. Let's say (another wild guess) the '70's Sense and Sensibility.
    4. Oh, I know this one! The Sound of Music. "Not too sweet, not too sour." "Just too, ummmm, PINK."
    5. Oh my. I have no clue, but it looks like Downton Abbey.
    6. I don't know this one.
    7. Anne of Green Gables. Of course.
    8. No idea.
    9. Saving Mr. Banks!
    10. Noooooo....
    And there we are!! #bestgameever
    Heehee.

    4. Sound of Music?

    5. Downton Abbey?

    7. Anne of Green Gables

  6. Oh this is hard!
    2. Singing in the Rain
    5. Downton Abbey
    10. Cranford

That's all I could guess, I'll head over to the answers to see if I got them right. :P

Leaving me a comment is like walking by my house and dropping a little note in the post-box. I mean, it's really nice of you. So thanks.
