Monthly Challenges // February

So, remember this?

Seeing as my New Years Resolutions are 1. Spoil less time on the Internet. 2. Get more writing done. and 3. Do more things not involving the Internet, I came up this brilliant (haha) idea last night, while fireworks were popping and the sky was changing colour around our house and while 2015 changed to 2016.  I thought: "I'm going to keep monthly challenges to help me actually KEEP these New Years Resolutions." Seeing as many of you said you wanted to spoil less time this year (poor us, we are such helpless creatures) I thought I would share it, and all that.

I personally don't mind if no-one does this, but I like challenging myself, sooo. Let's see how I (and anyone else who did participate) did for January! The challenge I set for myself was "Only pin pins on Pinterest on Saturdays (and my birthday)" AND I DID IT!!! I did use Pinterest througout the week, but I only pinned and liked pins on Saturdays and my birthday. :-) I'm proud of myself.

The challenge for February is this: Only watch Youtube videos on Saturdays. I will allow myself to put up music, you know, for while I study. But the Messy Mondays and other videos that I follow and so on will only be watched on Saturdays.

Let's see if I can do this!!! Is anyone joining me with this February challenge?

  1. I really like this idea, by the way!

Great, I'm in for February. It'll be challenging, but doable, I think:) My only exception is that I'll allow myself to watch videos related to school, because, you know, those are important;)

    1. I know, it'll be challenging for me too. (Oh yes, for school doesn't count.)

  2. Well, I don't watch youtube videos at all, besides music (and the occasional video someone tells me about), so this shouldn't be hard. I'm with you. ;-)

  6. Well, as I said I changed the challenge to only getting on Pinterest on Saturdays, but allowing pinning from other sites throughout the week. I did pretty well, but I admit I got on a few times to go to a specific board of mine to find a recipe or such.
I don't actually watch youtube videos, really, so I'll stick with January's challenge again. ;P

  7. AWW, MAN. *whines like a litte kid* No YouTube videos until SATURDAY? How will I SURVIVE?! ;P Okay, so I participated in January - I didn't go on Pinterest at all!!! Because I don't have it, hehe. ;D But this one sure hits home, haha. (Yep, I'm guilty. I watch quite a lot of music videos from some of my favourite YouTube artists, and I watch videos on an American, Christian family with 19 kids, and I watch Blimey Cow occasionally, and...yeah. I don't do it daily, but putting it all together, it DOES add up...)
Okay. Except I shall have to add one minor adjustment. ;) It can't really be Saturday, for me, because that's basically the busiest day of the week, haha. So I shall change it to Friday (we don't normally do bookwork on that day - mostly cleaning, and occasionally art/craft/sewing/cooking or visiting an old people's home). I don't think it's cheating, 'cause it's the same idea. Just ONE day a week. Only one question - do Mind the Gap episodes count?! :P Cause they're the ones I look forward to the most every week!! (And it's TOMORROW...haha.)
But never mind, I shall try - after all, it WAS my resolution to spend less time on the computer this year, too. ;)

    1. Miss Meg, I KNOW. IT'S HARD. (Is the American, Christian family with nineteen kids the Duggars? Or the Bates? I like the Bates at lot. :-D) Yes, Friday is fine. It's the same idea. :-D
Well, for ME, Mind the Gap episodes DO count - but you may make your own rules. I LOVE them too, by the way. It'll be hard to wait. But I can do this.

    2. Yes yes!! It's the BATES! I love them so much. :D I feel as though I know them, haha! I can only watch little snippets of videos, 'cause they don't let you see anymore in Australia, but it's better than nothing. ;)
Yes, Mind the Gap episodes are so wonderful. :D Gosh, I don't know...I kind of consider them 'blogging' things, but it IS a YouTube video. I think I may have to make an exception for myself, hehe. (I mean, after all, there are...*counts* at least 7 other YouTube videos I love to watch, so I WILL be cutting back on a lot. ;))
I must go now - cheerio!

    3. I know, I can only watch little videos too. (There are more on the UP tv website, by the way. But I shouldn't tell you because it's not Friday. :-D)
Yes, you make your own rules. :-)

  8. Well, what with one thing and another (hosting blog parties and such ;)) I DIDN'T do so well with my January challenge, but the few days I DID hit my goal of not going on the internet after 9:30 at night worked out marvelously and so I'm going for it again. (And it'll work out well for this month, too, as I don't do much Youtube at the moment anyway.) Soooo.... here we go!!! ;D

Leaving me a comment is like walking by my house and dropping a little note in the post-box. I mean, it's really nice of you. So thanks.
