A Very Merry Tag

Abby (swell girl) at 'Lavender Spring' (swell blog) has this lovely, long Christmas-themed Advent-calender-days celebrations going on at her blog, and it includes a list of Christmassy questions! So yay, let's go and do this. (IT'S DECEMBRRRR!) (For the questions for yourself, go yonder.) (It's called 'A Very Merry Tag.' Does't that sound ridiculously adorable and cheery? GO AND FILL IT OUT yourself.)

1. Does it snow where you live around Christmas? (If it doesn't, you have my sincere sympathy.) How much? Any special snowy Christmas stories?
I accept your sincere sympathy, my girl.
YEAH I KNOW. POOR SOUL ME. I knoww. *Weeps on shoulder* I can't remember the last time we had a white Christmas, unfortunately. (Well, I remember that Christmas when I was like, five, and we went to Switzerland and had tons of sledding and snow.) It generally cold here in December, but Mr Snow isn't a regular visitor during this month. January and February see more of Mr Snow, and December does too, but not as often. However, so far this December has been very frosty, so I have a chance. *goes away singing I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

2. Do you get a real tree or a fake tree?
Real. Cuz it smells better. And it looks better. And because the world needs more trees cut down, right?

3. What is your favourite Christmas movie?
I don't really know. I've often watched The Sound of Music around Christmas, but I don't classify that as a Christmas movie. Little Woman is very Christmassy, and I loved that.

4. Where in the world would you like to spend Christmas the most?
Home sweet home. Or in England, with Grandma and Granddad. Family.

5. What fictional/literary character would you most like to spend Christmas with?
Married couple Emma and Knightley would be lovely. They're Christmassy people. ;-)

What is your favourite Christmas song?
I have two. Well, I have millions, but my two favourites are O Holy Night and In the Bleak Midwinter. Both are deliciously beautiful and seem to give me a little sneak-peak of how beautiful heaven is going to be. And they both have gorgeous words as well as gorgeous tunes.

What is your favourite Christmas book/story (besides, ya know, the story)?
Besides, ya know, THE story. Hahah yes.
Well, I like The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - JUST KIDDING. I actually dislike that story. I don't get why it's a Christmas classic.
When I was younger, every year, my mother read a short dutch story to us about these three rich boys who expected great Christmas presents. They got great Christmas presents but they weren't satisfied and just squabbled the whole Christmas morning. And then their father forced them to go and give it to this poor boy and it's just a really cute and lovely story. I love it.

Which do you prefer: multi-coloured lights or white lights?
White. They're fancier.

What time period/decade would you most like to spend Christmas in?
This one is okay, I'm happy where I am. However, after watching Call the Midwife Christmas specials, a Christmas in the late 50's sounds divine too.

Which period drama has the best Christmas scene/episode?
Downton Abbey Season Two Christmas Special end of story bye.

Anne of Green Gables Week / Tag!

What-ho, all. Today I wrote a stupid poem titled 'the imagination of Period Drama lovers' (if you are convincing enough I might yet embarrass myself by posting it online) and today I am wearing my new plaid shirt, because it's autumn and autumn means plaid shirts, right? October is a beautiful month - filled with boot-buyers, crumpled-up dead leaves, people disrespectfully playing with leaf corpses, dark evenings, shivery mornings and the cosy, delicious, indescribable scent of October. As Anne Shirley said, I'm so glad I live in a world with Octobers.

Hey, what do you know, speaking of Anne Shirley - Evie is hosting an Anne of Green Gables themed week at her blog!!! (Check it out, yo.) She posted a list of questions for all the Anne of Green Gables fans to answer, so obviously (um, duh) here I am with mine.

1. How did you get introduced to Anne of Green Gables?
My mother. I always knew I liked her. My mother got introduced to it by a friend of hers. And so on till way back when Lucy Maud Montgomery introduced it to the first other person who read it. So yeah, Lucy Maud Montgomery herself introduced me to Anne of Green Gables.

2. Are you more like Anne or Diana? Why?
Anne. Definitely. As much as I love Diana, I have the imagination of a Shirley and the whimsy of an Anne. (I do not chatter half as much (or as well) as Anne does, neither do I have red-hair genes. But I have green eyes! I have green eyes!)

3. If Rachel Lydne called your hair as red as carrots how would you react?
I would ask her to reconsider the fact that carrots are red. They are not red. They are orange.

4. Gilbert or Morgan Harris?
Who even is Morgan Harris?
;-)

5. Honest opinion on the third Anne film.
I haven't seen it, and of course it would annoy me because it is in zero ways like any of the Anne sequels, I believe. But I'm sure it's a good movie as a separate story - if the characters would have other names and so on. But it's not about Anne and Gilbert. :-P

6. Have you seen the New Anne film?
Do you mean the one with the tiny Gilbert and the brunette-Diana and the weird Anne? This one? No, I haven't. I've laughed over the trailer with Emma and my sister (many many times), and I kind of want to see it just to bash it. (You are right when you think I think it looks terrible. Ha.)
Anne of Green Gables already has a movie... no-one needs to redo it. :-)

7. What in your own words is a Kindred Spirit?
Someone who gives you icecream, of course.
(Okay, sorry. ;-) I know I should answer questions seriously, even though I sometimes am tempted not to because it's fun not to. Kindred Spirits are loyal, kind people who never fail to put you in a good mood.)

8.  Movie Gilbert or Green Gables Fables Gilbert?
I really love Green Gables Fables - and the Gilbert in it is awesome. BUT MOVIE GILBERT WINS, okay?!! The curls and the sparkly eyes and the grin and the Edwardian look... it wins. I love Gilbert.

9.  Does anyone know where we can watch Road to Avonlea online?
I've been scouring the interwebs for this answer as well. The first episode is on Youtube, but otherwise the search is useless. I want to watch Road to Avonlea SO BADLY though!!! Did you know Gilbert himself is in one of the episodes? That idea alone makes my fangirl heart so happy.

10. Favourite book cover?
This one. I'm in lurve.

11. The Films or The Books?
The books will always be my original, real, Anne-places. They are filled with the real stories that Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote down, filled with lush detail and beautiful behind-the-scenes tidbits of characters that we don't get to see that well in the movies, I think. The books are beautiful and I love them way to much for my health.

Go and answer the questions yourself now. Here is Evie's post. Click on the 'here.' ;-)

My Answers to the Downton Abbey Tag

(Warning: There are mild spoilers sprinkled throughout this post. But read it anyway, because it won't hurt.)

1. Who introduced you to Downton Abbey?
My mother's uncle lent us the dvd, and I was hooked from the very start. (At least I think. I mean, I would expect. It was quite a while ago now. :-P)

2. What Season did you (or: do you think you would) enjoy the most?
SEASON TWO IS THE BEST. (Although sheeesh, season one is amazing too, and season three I love as well, and season six is purty amazing as well.) Season two is my favourite though, because:
1. The WAR makes for heart-breaking plots and scenes and just... epiccc.
2. A LOT of Matthew and Mary (and Sybil and Tom.)
3. William <3 <3
4. Remember when Mary sings and Matthew joins her??? (I  a l w a y s  m e l t .)
5. The Christmas Special = Perfect.

3. Who wore the prettiest wedding dress?
I love Mary's (when she married Matthew, of course) - but the prize, I believe, goes to Rose Aldridge - who wore this beautiful article. (Apparently one of the only real vintage dresses worn on the show!)

4. What plot twist/ scene came most unexpected to you? (Or do you pre-read all the spoilers?)
I pre-read all the spoilers. *ashamed look* :-P However, despite that, Edith getting jilted at the altar came pretty unexpected, and Robert throwing up blood at the dinner table was pretty unexpected too.
(AND SYBIL AND MATTHEW SUDDENLY UGH.)
(Oh yes, I think Sybil dying was the worst. Because I don't think I knew.)

5. If you could save one character from dying, who would you save?
As much as I love Sybil and William, I WOULD SAVE MY BOY MATTHEW.

6. Who is your favourite Downton Abbey footman?
William. He was the sweetest lad on earth.

7. What typo annoys you more? "Downtown Abbey" or "Downton Abby"?
Downtown. 'Abby' looks more like an accidental typo, but 'Downtown' looks more like a 'nooo-THIS-is-how-you-spell-it'-obnoxious typo, and it annoys me. :-P

8. Which character do you think developed the best throughout the seasons?
Rose has developed so much throughout the seasons - first she's this boy-crazy, wild flirt with crazy hair and secret smoking sessions - and by the end she's a cheerful, mature lady with a very charming husband.
Thomas Barrow also - he's nothing but evil at the beginning, and by evil I mean really not nice at all. But by the end he's like one of my favourite characters and I love him. :-)

9. Favourite Downton couple? (Okay, pick two, because there's too much cuteness to narrow down to one.)
Tom and Sybil have a huge place in my heart (they are DEFINITELY my number 2 couple because MY WORD they are epic and dramatic and *explodes*), as do Anna & Bates, Rose & Atticus and Edith & Bertie, but you all know that my favourite, always-will-love-to-death couple is Matthew and Mary. They just get me, man. They are ridiculously adorable, heart-breaking and bewilderingly epic and just... they are the couple of the show and I LOVE them.

I mean... JUST LOOOOK:

Don't cry. DON'T CRY.

10. Which of Granny Grantham's one-liners is your favourite?
My favourite is 'Sybil, vulgarity is no substitute for wit' because I can quote it in my daily life and sound so smart. :-P

11. How do you react when you meet another DA-lover?
"Oh, I LOVE Downton Abbey! It's my favourite ever! Who's your favourite character? Have you seen all of it? What did you think of the ending?" and, in my heart I say, "WE ARE FRIENDS."

12. Do you think the show should go on and on, or do you think it should have ended earlier?
While I enjoyed season six a looot (and season four and five had their very good bits as well), they could have ended with this scene, right?! RIGHT??? THEY COULD HAVE.

13. Which room in Downton Abbey is your favourite?
The library is sooo cool because it has a door filled with books. I love that door.

14. If you could be part of the story, would you rather be a person downstairs or upstairs?
Pros of upstairs:
1. You get to wear pretty clothes and that is a big deal.
2. You don't have to worry about waking up on time, and you get breakfast in bed and everything. Oh, the sheer luxury.
3. You get to talk with Lady Grantham. Plus Matthew.
4. You're one of the important ones.
Pros of downstairs:
1. It's wayyy cosier.
2. You don't have to worry about being ladylike.
3. It more fun.
4. You get to talk with Mrs Patmore. Plus Tom. (Although he goes up sooner or later.)
My first instinct is upstairs, but I think that maybe I'd feel more at ease downstairs. (Where there actually is something to DO.) (I want to be both, though.)

15. Who would you rather spend an afternoon with, Mrs Patmore or Mrs Crawley/ Cora?
Mrs Patmore is lovely, but I'd rather spend an afternoon with Cora. (If I can choose though, I would like to spend an afternoon with Lady Grantham - aka Violet - aka best character ever.)

16. Do you have any Downton Abbey inside jokes with someone?
Yes. :-) Let's keep it there. It takes too long to explain. (You know, why its funny when Anna says 'wedding', and how Tom looks in Season Six... I can't explain it.)

17. Describe the show in one word.
EPIC AND AMAZING AND FANTASTIC.

18. On a scale of 1-10, how much of a fan do you consider yourself?
I would say 10, but I'm sure there are even bigger and more 'experienced' fans than I. So I'll go with 9. :-P Maybe after I've rewatched it, I'll go up. :-)

(Ahhhh, do you remember how amazing Season Two was?!! And Sybil as a nurse? She slayed.)

19. Do you sometimes forget who is who?
Sometimes, some of the little characters who made an appearance in an early show and suddenly pop up again in a later show... (and I'm expected to remember the name and everything.)

20. Finally, who is your favourite character (okay, pick three favourites, but no more than three - NO MORE), and why do you love them?
Okay. I can do this.
1. Lady Grandma (I seriously wrote 'Grandma' instead of 'Grantham' accidentally. I'm going to keep it that way because it looks good.) - I love her because she's hilarious and stubborn and kind-hearted and strong and just... I love her. She's the best.
2. Matthew Crawley - he's my fictional fiancé; he's so sweet and so goodlooking and so gentlemanly... I love him MAJORLY.
3. Sybil Crawley - a sweet, sweet girl... SPOILER my heart broke when she died. She was the sweetest thing ever and I want her voice (it's so cute!!) and I just love Sybil so much. Can I be her friend?!!

(Bonus mentions: Anna Bates (the DEAR), William, Mrs Hughes, Tom Branson (!!!!) and Rose. And Bertie.)

Downton Abbey Week Starts! + Tag Questions

Blast the trumpets, sound the organ, the epic Downton Abbey week is HERE!

Right on the doorstep, waiting to be busy, waiting to encourage a new flock of thousands to watch its genius masterpiece episodes and waiting for its old and new fans to discuss the good bits over and over again. For once, I am allowed to be dramatic, because this is Downton Abbey we're talking about, dearest, and if anything is dramatic, it's Downton Abbey. And I mean that in the best sense, as in THRILLING-dramatic, and EPIC-dramatic and soulfully-dramatic.

It is true, Downton Abbey has it's objectionable content. There are scenes here and there that I could definitely do without. I say this, because I know people expect me to say this; and yeah, it's important to know, so you're warned and all that, and so you can skip When Necessary. Having said that though, this week I'm going to focus on the majority of the show - The Good. Downton Abbey makes my heart warm, 90% of its plots make me swoon, smile or SOB, and my word it is a good show. It really is EPIC AND AMAZING AND GAHHH. ME LOVES.

(Basically, I'm going to swoon and love everything this week, but be aware that I definitely do not condone everything in the show. There are many things that are very secular about it, and I think that is very sad (as well as cumbersome, snort.))

Point made, Naomi loves Downton Abbey, and the Downton Abbey Week Has Officially Started. (And this may not be as exciting as she makes it to be, but hushhh. Don't spoil my moment!)

How do weeks work? How can you join in? It's easy. Of course, I run what goes on on my blog - I will post about twice a day till the week is over. You may read said posts if you feel up to it, and you may furthermore contribute to the week by doing one or all or two of the following things:

1. Comment on the posts.
Firstly, do play the Downton Abbey game (coming up soon today). Then, share your opinions, your Downton Abbey love; your fondness towards this character and your dislike towards that one. Lets have fun and talk together and be like this cool Downton Abbey society for a week. Even if you've never seen the show, you can still share your thoughts - you have thoughts - and prejudgements and et-cetera.
2. If you have a blog, write a Downton Abbey themed blog post.
Could be anything. "A Review of Episode 4 of Season 3", "Downton Abbey Weddings", "On Sarah O'Brian", "That time when Kate Middleton visited the set of Downton Abbey", "My ten favourite Downton Abbey characters"... the list of possible blog posts goes on and on. Once you have written the post(s) (write as many as you want!) come back to this post right here now and paste the link to your post in the comment section, so I can read it and comment, and then link back to it at the wrap-up post at the end. If you do not tell me of your posts, I might never read it and that would be sad indeed.
3. You can fill out the tag.
The tag - the list of questions - could be filled out either on your blog, or either in the comment section. Here's the list:

The Downton Abbey Tag:

Thank you so much for joining me - we're going to have a good time!
(A good time? How Middle Class.)
(Now, for the time being, we shall not meet again.)
("Do you promise?")

Also: I MUST WARN YOU: There will be spoilers in this week, so read with caution. (!!!!)

Would You Rather - Jane Austen Tag!

I have been most honoured to be tagged again, and hence by the very lovely lady - whose name is Cordy. Short for Anne Shirley's favourite girls-name. The tag has been created most creatively by the girl herself, and I can't wait to fill it out as it 1. Is about Jane Austen (my one weakness) and 2. Looks extremely fun to fill out. So thank you to Cordy for tagging me! (Do check out her adorable blog here.)

Who would you rather have act as your matchmaker, Lady Russell (from Persuasion) or Mrs. Jennings?
Mrs Jennings, by all means. We'd have a blast. :-P By 'we'd have a blast' I mean to say, 'I would find her matchmaking skills hilarious, and I would try my hardest to avoid the extremely blush-worthy situations and find my way out of her matches by laughing it away. Or I would eat olives. (I don't like olives. The thing about olives was a quote.)
Basically I chose Mrs Jennings because I love her character. Her F-major joke and her bustling laughter and dreadfully gossipy brain. I just love watching her, and I think I'd love to meet her in person. (Also, I'm not that interested in Lady Russell. I'd seriously forgotten who she was.)

Who would you like as a pen pal from Jane Austen's works?
FUN QUESTION.
I'd want to penpal with Mr Darcy; is my first instinct for an answer. Because HIS HANDWRITING. And HIS STORIES. But on closer thought, I think having a girl of more intimate nature and age would be nicer, for a long notice. So maybe Catherine Moorland. I can really see her letters being supes fun to read. (Or maybe Margaret Dashwood. The girl needs an occupation or she will run mad.) (#SenseandSensibilityquote.)

Who would you rather go on a walk with, Colonel Fitzwilliam or Captain Benwick?
I'm a P&P fan. Colonel Fitzwilliam for sure. (Um, excuse me. I have a sudden headache. Do you mind if we take the short way home?) (Yes, WHY YES. Such sudden headaches DO exist. By ALL means.)

Who would you rather have to befriend, Mrs. Elton or Lucy Steele?
I love the italicised 'have.' Good use of italics. Emily Starr would approve.
Well, maybe Mrs Elton. Because she's so annoying it's not annoying. (Wow, I'm so making sense right now. It's amazing how much sense I'm making.) I just could not befriend Lucy Steele - she's like not annoying annoying - she's just annoying. And she's not hahaah-she's-soooo-annoying annoying, she's just ARGHHHH-LEAVE-ME-ALONE-ANNOYING.
Plus, Mrs Elton provides for some unique comic relief. And she does all the organising.

Who would you rather have as a sibling, John Knightley or Mary (from Persuasion, not Mary Bennet)?
JOHN KNIGHTLEY. I rather love him. He's grumpy, but perfectly lovably so.

Who would you rather dance with? (Very open book!)
VERY OPEN BOOK INDEED. Wow. Lemme think hard. My first instinct, is, of course - my favourite Jane Austen hero: the very marry-worthy Johnny-lee-Miller Mr Knightley. But then Henry Tilney, in all his curly sparkliness would be SO much fun to dance with. So I'm going to go with Henry Tilney.
(I was going to answer this with Mr Collins for an answer and then see how many people asked me whether I was being sarcastic or not, but then I thought better not.)

Who would you rather refuse, Mr. Collins or Mr. Elton?
Ewwww. Both would make for a gross scene. Mr Collins would be more humorous to refuse, and I would feel less guilty to hurt his feelings than I would for hurting Mr Elton's feelings (Mr E has a slightly human side to him) - So Mr Collins. He'd certainly be flattered by my refusing elegant female nature. And an unhappy alternative would be before me.

Who would you rather match-make for, Miss Bates or Mary Bennet?
I wanted to say MARY BENNET. Because we all think she should have married Mr Collins - you can see in P&P95 that she fancies him, you can see it.
But considering that Mr Collins marries his dear Charlotte (who, by the by, should Make Haste) - I have to say that making a match for Miss Bates would provide for a more cheerful scenario.

Who would you rather have as a best friend?
This is anyone, I assume? Well, I'd always thought being friends with Lizzy Bennet herself would be awful jolly, but me and Catherine would be in a sport of giggles together too. (And me and the Dashwood girls would get along splendidly, I'm sure.) But I'm going to go with Elizabeth. She's a brick.

Who would you rather argue with? (Mrs. Bennet, Lady Catherine, Emma Woodhouse, Mr. Woodhouse, Mr. Palmer, Mrs. Jennings, Fanny Dashwood, Captain Wentworth, Mr. Darcy, ect.)
Of the ones you mentioned, LADY CATHERINE. WHAT FUN. WHAT FUN.
(I'd also like to argue with Mr Knightley, just because he looks so handsome doing so. But I don't actually want to argue with him. I just want to see his arguing face.)

Would you rather wander the grounds of Pemberley and risk being 'discovered' or wander over the downs surrounding Barton Cottage in the rain and twist an ankle?
PEMBERLEY. For sure. DUH PEEPS. I wouldn't mind being discovered by Mr Darcy. I mean... :-P (And I definitely do not want to twist my ankle. However literary-worthy it may sound.)

Where would you live in Austen's works?
Barton Cottage, what with the sea and the moors and the cute windows and everything. Adorable little location. (Yes, with the stuffed chimney and crooked stairs and everything.)

One more thing, people. (Let me see if you end up reading this... :-)) Today is my second blog anniversary!!! I was going to do a long post on it, and fill paragraphs with illustrious thank-you's to all you lovely followers and commenters and readers (because you totes deserve them) but then I got bombarded with lack of free time, and tags (which I love ;-P), so one little paragraph now will have to do.

Anyways, THANK YOU FOR READING WONDERLAND CREEK. (I promise this is only the second year of many more to come. I'm sticking around for good.) (Yeah, sorry 'bout that.)

Little House Blog Party - The Tag!

It has started, over at A to Z, the party of vanity cakes and lemonade. I am really excited for this party, because Little House has and is and always will be a big part of my life. Happy was my brain then, when voilà, lo and behold, Ashley had prepared a list of questions for anyone who wants to to answer. (For the list of questions, and the kick-off post, click here.)

MY ANSWERS!

1. How did you discover Little House?

Little House is one of those things that I never really seemed to discover. It was always... THERE. I do remember getting them for one of my early birthdays, though, and I thiiink that's when I got introduced to them. My uncle bought them for me (nope, just joking, my mum bought them and my uncle paid them) and I think my mum discovered them through a friend of hers... or whatever. I should ask her.

Basically, I've always had 'em. The loyal things. *Hugs books tight and close*

2. Which Little House series have you read? Which are your favourite? (Laura, Martha, Rose, etc.)

I've read all of them (but ONE outroarously expensive book in the Caroline series - On Top of Concord Hill) and ohhh, I love them. (I had to say that, to show you I really AM a fan, and not just a person who wants to be a fan and therefore does anything to pretend being one.) The Martha and Charlotte years are not my favourites - so that leaves me with the Caroline books, the Laura books and the Rose books.

I CAN'T. (Choose. I can't choose.)

I'll have to go with Laura's. 'Cause they're all so fat, and they're all the classic ones.

3. Have you read any "extra" Little House books? (books not "canon", cookbooks, song books, craft books, little kid books, etc.)

Yes. You bet.

We own several 'Little House books for kids' - you know, those disgustingly adorable ones, illustrated by Renee Graef - and I own the 'Little House Cookbook' (which I've never used for a recipe; shame, shame), 'The Little House Guidebook', 'Laura's Album' (love), 'Little House Sewing book' and 'Little House Crafts Book.' That's all. I think. (Oh, and I've read them all.) (Although skimmed most of the recipes.)

4. Have you read any nonfiction works about Laura or any of the Little House girls?

Non fiction. Oh, so books about the girls but not THE BOOKS. :-P I get it. Well, I've read 'Laura's Album' which basically goes through all the possible photographs and letters and visual scraps of the Little House girls (and it's GREAT - I love it to bits.) And then I've also read a magazine on Laura Ingalls once - I cut it all out when I was about twelve. (Why did I do THAT.)

And oh yes - Laura's Diary! I've always classified this as book number 10 of Laura's books, actually, because it was part of the Dutch Little House Box Set I got. The tenth book in the box set included  an introduction by Rose Wilder Lane, Laura's Diary and then a long, but interesting commentary on Laura and co, by some man or the other. (It might have been Garth Williams, but then I might be making this up.)
Laura's Diary isn't long - it basically tracks their journey to Missouri. You know, the one the first Rose book is based upon.

5. If you could be in any character's place, who would you choose and why?

OHH. Fun and hard question, this.

OH OH. I KNOW. Polly. Polly Ingalls. (No, not because I absolutely love Henry Quiner.) Basically because I absolutely love Henry Quiner, and I'd love to be Charles' sister, and Caroline's friend.
(I'd also like to be Mary Power, Laura's schoolfriend. She just sounds really cool, and plus. She goes to school with two of the Ingalls girls.)

6. What's your favorite Little House ship? (AKA couple)

CAROLINE AND CHARLES. I love the two of them, and 'A Little House on their Own' is just so 'to-be-drawn-all-over-with-hearts-able'. I'll be guest posting on the adorable-ness of these two some day this week on Ashley's blog, so stay tuned for that or something.
I also love Rose and Paul. But, oh for crying to sleep, that never turned out. The ship, as they say, sank.
Almanzo and Laura, despite the awkward age gap, have an adorable courtship... and I love the two of them to smuggles and bits.
And then I'm pretty much obsessed with the two minor characters in the Caroline years - Polly and Henry. THEY ARE CUTE. Or what.

7. What's your favourite Little House book? Cover?

My favourite Little House book... a TIE between 'The Little Town on the Prairie', 'Those Happy Golden Years' and 'A Little House of their Own.' If I had, had to choose one, probably the former. (But I'd only choose one if someone forced me with a knife and everything.)

My favourite cover? The Happy Golden Years one. It's so yellowy and summery and I'm still in love with Laura's pink dress. (And Almanzo's cute.)

8. If you could invite any secondary character from any of the Little House books over for dinner, who would you choose and why?

You can't just ask me that! Well, maybe Ida Brown. She's such a sweetheart, and I've always wanted to be her friend, and hug her. I've always loved her brown eyes and her sweet personality. (Ida is mentioned the most in 'Little Town on the Prairie.' For those of you who wondered.)

9. Have you watched the Little House TV show? If so, do you enjoy it?

Indeed I have. Many times, many episodes. I used to be a huge, ginormous fan: but now I'm indubitably prefer the books to the TV show. The TV show still gives me warm fuzzies, and it will always hit home, and I there are so many good good episodes, but goodness - all the inaccuracies! A beardless Pa. The Ingalls's ADOPT THREE KIDS. I can't even proceed.
(As I told a friend of mine recently: From series five and onwards the TV show gets rather bad. But the first four series are really good, if you don't think about the books while watching them. (If you do think about the books, you might get crazy.))

10. If you could watch a YouTube miniseries on any Little House book or series, which would you choose and how would the basic plot go?

I've thought of this before, actually, and I'd love to find one one day. Of course, it would have to be with a teenager-Laura rather than a five-year-old-Laura. (Five year old girls uploading Youtube videos? Nope.) Maybe it could be a video series of 'Little Town' and 'Golden Years' (yes, yes, my two favourites) with Laura sending videos to Mr Edwards, who she lives far away from. And then Nellie hacks her account and makes some videos, which starts their rivalry. And then she goes to teach and sends videos to Pa, of her being homesick and then bam, Manzo comes in the room and saves the day WHILE FILMED. (Impeccable timing alert.)

Go check out ZEE EPIC WEEK!

Hope you enjoyed my answers... :-)

Tag Answers - Roundup

MY FAVOURITE GIF.
So, as promised, here is a Tag Answer Roundup. Basically I'm pasting my favourite of your answers. If you aren't 'in' this post, that doesn't mean that I don't like your answers. I mean, DUH; I loved them all. Although, SO many of you answered these, I'm bound to not add millions. :-) I'm just pasting some random answers of yours. I don't really have any 'favourites.' This is all disastrously random, (as I like to say.) :-)

Thank you all Everlastingly much for completing the Tag. Here are all the ladies who did, with their own respective links for you to enjoy:

If you want more, you can go to the first Jane Austen Week post and read all the answers of people who don't have a blog and commented it. :-)

Oh, and if you haven't sent me your link yet, do it, mmmkay? So I can add you to this list. :-)

1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a Jane Austen fan do you consider yourself?

"Hmm.  Probably an 8.  I really enjoy her books and many movies based on them, and I love learning about the history of her era, and about Jane Austen herself.  I consider myself an Austenite, not a Janeite, just because "Janeite" seems to be used by people who are more interested in the romantic aspects of her novels, whereas I enjoy them more for her writing style and the characters as a whole.  Which doesn't mean I don't enjoy the romances too, but they're not what primarily draws me to her books -- they're more like the whipped cream on top of the hot chocolate." (Hamlette)

"10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously!!!!!!!" (Lois Johnson)

2. If "they" would make a new Jane Austen Movie, and you would be able to be cast in it, which Jane Austen character would you most like to play?

"Oh, I know, I would want to play Margaret Dashwood! I'm around her age, she doesn't have to kiss anyone (:-P) and her character isn't entirely developed so I'd be able to add my 'twist' to her character. I love acting, I've actually done quite a lot of it. :-D" (Miss Meg)

"Emma Emma Emma! All the way. I could be made to look quite like her I think. More than any other character." (Lucy Amanda)

"First of all, this is so cool that I'm being cast in a movie! My big break! (haha) I would love to play Emma, really. She may not be the heroine I relate to the most, but I'd have sooooo much fun being cute and bossy and annoying. ;-P" (Emma Jane)

3. Is there any felicity in the world superior to a walk?

"Walks actually are rather nice, but dancing is wonderful. Your partner twirling you, and your body moving with the music. I guess dancing is more superior to walking. :-)" (Ekaterina)

"There is no felicity superior to a walk in the sunshine. However, there are PLENTY of things superior to walk in the RAIN. (Lookin' at you, Marianne Dashwood.)" (Jessica Prescott)

"How about a nap?  They're awfully nice.  :)" (Miss March)

4. Who's your favourite Jane Austen 'villain'? (As in 'villain' meaning 'the bad guy.')

"I really like Henry Crawford. Not that I in any way condone his actions, but I think he was a nice layered character that had the potential for both good and bad. (Just a shame he chose wrong)" (Rose)

"That would be Willoughby -- because I actually like Willoughby, even though he's considered the villain of the story. He's selfish and shallow and pretty much a jerk, but I have compassion for him and I think if he gave it a little effort he could reform his ways. Plus, I can't resist Greg Wise. That's the plain truth." (Emma Jane)

5. What/Who introduced you to Jane Austen?
"Although I think I had heard of Sense and Sensibility 1995 before, I was introduced to the wonderful world of Miss Austen by Pride and Prejudice 1995.  It was my birthday (not sure which birthday – maybe my 18th?).  My mom, brother, and I stayed up late to watch the five-hour miniseries.  They fell asleep and missed the first proposal which prevented the rest of the movie from making sense.  :)  That viewing of P&P started my obsession with JA." (Kerry)

"My past English teacher.. she bought me Pride and Prejudice when we were at a literary festival in the city for extension.. and let's say my love for Austen blossomed. " (Evie)

"My parents.  I can't really remember not having watched P&P '95--I guess it's always just been one of those unspoken forevers." (Olivia)

6. Did you love/enjoy Jane Austen immediately, or has there been a time when you hated (um, prejudged) it?
"Yes. I've always loved it. I was a janeite from the womb...even if I didn't know it at the time. XD" (Jess)

"Never! I've always adored Jane Austen, ever since my first introduction to her." (Natalie)

7. Who, in your opinion, is the funniest Jane Austen character?
"Oh, Lydia Bennet, hands down. My goodness, you should have seen my mom and sister after we first watched the movie! They were mimicking Lydia in just about everything. :P" (Blessing Counter)

"I have seen that Mr. Palmer seems to be the popular answer here so while still agreeing with you I want to suggest another candidate. Mr. John Knightley...not to be confused with his brother the Mr. Knightley." (Cordy)

"I'm going to go with '95 Mary Bennet!  She's really rather hilarious--her line delivery, her facial expressions, everything:D" (Olivia)

"That's not fair!  I mean it!  That is NOT a fair question! How in the world am I supposed to decide between so many characters?  Alright, alright.  I'll do it.
Mr.BennetHenryTilneyJohnKnightlyMr.PalmerMaryMusgroveMr.KnightlyEmmaMr.EltonMrs.Elton. And that's all I have to say on the subject!" (Miss March)

8. Do you quote Jane Austen randomly in public?
"Yes! I quote Jane Austen randomly wherever I go! There are people who don't? ;)" (Lois Johnson)

"Not usually.  However, if I am around another JA devotee, it is quite likely that we will start speaking in Austenese." (Kerry)

9. Are children allowed to eat cake on weddings?

"Why should they NOT be? Don't pay any attention to Mr. Woodhouse. I love him, but don't listen to what he says." (Jessica Prescott.)

"YES!!!  What's the use of taking them if they can't eat cake?" (Erudessa)

10. What is your reaction when you hear that an aquaintance of yours loves Jane Austen?
"REALLY?!! We Must Talk. Why Did We Not Know Each Other Before. That sort of thing :D" (Rosie McGann)

"Instant friendship!!!!!!! If it's a guy..... instant marriage!!!!!! ;) Just kidding. ;)" (Lois Johnson)

"Well, my eyes would probably light up with pleasure, and I'd say "Reeeaaallyyy?! Is that so! Well now, do you prefer Mr. Darcy 1995 or 2005?"
I'm serious. That would literally be my first question." (Phoebe)

11. Who writes better letters, Mr Darcy or Captain Wentworth?
"That is really hard to decide as the letters in themselves are so different. Captain Wentworth's letter was really sweet and romantic, but Darcy's letter shook me to the core and completely changed my perception of everything I had read this far, so I'm gonna choose that one." (Rose)

"Captain Wentworth. I mean...a proposal letter is more interesting than a slightly bitter letter of explanation. I'm amazed however how eloquent both can be under such stress!" (Lydia)

12. Which Jane Austen heroine do you relate the least to?

"This is so so hard because I have all the JA heroines in me. I'd say the least though is Fanny Price. But I still love her!" (Kristen Gutierrez)

"like her, but I find it hard to relate to Catherine Morland." (Heidi)

"Well... I THOUGHT this would be an easy question.  I relate to all of them for different reasons!  I feel, though, when I read the books, that Anne Elliot is the one I have the least empathy for." (Melody)

13. What's your favourite Jane Austen house (from one of the movies)?

"The Bennet's' (P&P 2005). It's so big and spacious and lovely!" (Anonymous commenter.)

"The Bennet's!! I looooovvve their little cottage, it's such a darling little thing! :)" (Blessing Counter)

"PEMBERLEY. DUUUUR.
Lol. Duh. just duh.
Though, Northanger Abbey 2007 wasn't a bad place either.
This is a hard question." (Jess)

14. What's your favourite Jane Austen dress (from one of the movies)?

"The dress Emma wears to the ball (the 2009 one) that's that soft peachy colour. I love that one!" (Miss Meg)

"I am hereby rewriting this question into "What's ONE of your favorite Jane Austen dresses (from one of the movies)?" Along with the correct American spelling of favorite. hee
Catherine's white blue floral dress that she wears to her first ball in Bath is just sooo pretty. I love it." (Natalie)

15. Can you turn off lit candles with your fingers?

"Yes, but it took some practice. I had a burn the first few times I tried." (Anonymous commenter)

"Haha! This made me laugh when I read it. But no I cannot do that. Maybe one day though..." (Kristen Gutierrez.)

"I just lit a candle and tried with… success! So yes, I can. :)" (Heidi)

"Can I?  I daresay yes.  Would I?  No." (Melody)

Thanks for all the lovely answers!
You are all so creative and THANK YOU. :-D
